Lights of Japan
Lights of Japan was a bridge of light between two cultures, an immersion into Japan’s winter aesthetics from the heart of Mexico City. Held in 2020 at the Asociación México Japonesa, the event transformed its gardens into a landscape of ever-changing lights, evoking the magic of Japan’s winter illumination festivals.
Light installations and audiovisual pieces created an environment where Japanese tradition met visual innovation. Lanterns, luminous structures, and immersive projections filled the space with a dreamlike atmosphere, transporting the audience to a wintery Japan, shimmering with fleeting shapes and glowing patterns.
More than an event, Lights of Japan was a connection between times and places—an instant where the essence of a Japanese winter came to life in Mexico City through light.
