Nosotros
Nosotros is a multimedia sculpture that exists in two spaces and two times at once. One part stands in Ciudad Juárez, a steel structure over 30 meters long and 7 meters high, with an interactive lighting system that responds to the pulse of the border. The other part resides in the Stanton Hotel in El Paso, where a dynamic projection transforms the space as the artwork breathes with the city’s movement.
Both parts are connected by the constant flow of those crossing the border. Its heartbeat is that of the people moving between both sides, tracing a map of light and shadow, of presence and absence. The more intense the transit, the stronger the artwork’s response: the lights in Juárez grow denser, the projection in El Paso accelerates, creating a living reflection of the ebb and flow that defines this region.
Nosotros is an invisible bridge that translates human movement into a language of light and projection. It is a witness to the duality of the border, to its contrasts and connections. A work that reminds us that, despite physical limits, we remain part of the same flow, the same heartbeat.
